Smokeless fire pits produce almost no smoke because they are very efficient burners: firstly, the large air inlets all around the bottom, the deep ash pit, and the fire being elevated on a metal grate, ensure that it consistently gets all the air it needs (1). Secondly, the HexFlame has double walls, which is the secret sauce of any smokeless fire pit. As the fire heats up the metal walls, the air between them rises up and rushes out through a ring of holes into the top of the fire (2). This extra air blowing into the fire higher up re-combusts unburnt smoke. Lastly, the fire pit’s relatively compact size keeps the heat well concentrated. All these factors together results in a delightfully smoke-free burn!
